Welcome, welcome!
I’m Grace Pengelly, a writer and editor living in Somerset, England.
The Murmuration is the virtual home for my writing - it’s a newsletter, meaning that if you sign up you will receive two original essays from me in your inbox each month. Paid supporters also enjoy GOLDEN HOUR, a weekly(ish) update and space to check in with each other.
Here you’ll find pieces that will connect you with the ideas, people and stories that matter, mostly thinking about the arts, environment and the deep questions that shape our time here. It will also cover some things that don’t matter so much, but make being human that little more pleasurable.
For the past six years I’ve worked as a literary nonfiction editor for HarperCollins UK. Now I’m working on my own writing and also provide editorial services to other writers and the publishing industry more broadly, which you can read about here.
That’s it for now! See you on the internet.
Grace
SUBSCRIPTION OPTIONS :
The Murmuration is fully funded by paid supporters on a pay-it-forward model. This means that 80% of my writing is available for free, for everyone, but it is the monthly or yearly subscriptions from members of our community which enable this!
£0/Mo : 80% of all my writing
£4/Mo or £35/year : 100% of my writing, and paying it forward for other readers
ANYONE who wants to can access everything for free, simply email grace@gracepengelly.co.uk and I will comp you a membership, no questions asked.
(Yes, it feels awkward asking for money, but without my paid subscribers I couldn’t afford to write this newsletter, so if you value my writing, and are keen to support it, then becoming a paid subscriber will help me to keep the show on the road. Thank you!)
